MVARA Lights up POTA K-5578 for parks on the air. It was a Beautiful morning for setting up the park with Amateur Radio in the form of parks on the air.
Link to Pictures A very Sad day at the MVARA with the loss of one of our great members. N9TMZ Blake is now a Silent Key, God Speed and RIP. It's with a heavy heart that I'm sharing the news of Blake N9TMZ's passing. Many of our new members didn't know Blake. Due to Alzheimer's disease he wasn't able to make our events anymore. He made it to Field Day the last time we were at the Onalaska parking ramp. Blake was a great guy. He had many mechanical talents, was fun loving, and as laid back as they come. He was usually one of the first to arrive at our events, and one of the last to leave. He wasn't big on operating Field Day or contests, but loved being one of the support crew. He worked at Randall Graw (now the Airgas branch in La Crosse) basically since high school. The last 10 years at Airgas he was the welder and all things electrical repair man. He knew how to make them sing. He even performed a repair to the MVARA gen set on the fly during Field Day one year. He was a fixture on alot of our trips to the Dayton Hamvention. Not to mention he loved classic cars, firearms, and doing things with good friends. I've missed him not being able to make memories with us for a long time. He would've loved it that we now have our bus and the exciting things coming down the road for MVARA. I don't have any pictures of him on my phone, but I know where to look, and I'll share some when I get them. 73 N9TMZ thanks for making our lives richer.
